Melinda and Saxon ~ A session with old friends

This isn’t the first time Melinda has appeared on my blog, and it certainly won’t be the last if she keeps this up….being so fabulous that is! This time she came in town with her daughter Saxon for an “official” photo session. I remember meeting Saxon when she was only about 2 years old,,,,well there has been quite a bit of change since then. She is a beautiful young lady, inside and out. I love how she stares at my lens, allowing just a tiny glimpse of her soul….seriously, can you see it? She’s breathtakingly gorgeous and intense! If you could see her Dad, she’s a lovely blend of both her parents. By the looks of these photos below, Saxon got some serious picture taking abilities from her mom!

Thanks for coming all the way to Chattanooga for our session. Good luck with your move to Florida….and next time I am sure I can make it to the beach for a family session!

Congratulations Jeremy and Rachel!

I was thrilled with Heather asked me to photograph her sister Rachel’s wedding as she married one of the loves of her life Jeremy….the other love is their son Andy! Their pronounced their love together at a moving ceremony at the Bocce Court in the Art District overlooking the valley and Tennessee River. Amazing view, need I say more!?

Congratulations all three of you (Jeremy, Rachel and Andy) as you begin life as a family. I love you all!

Introducing….Sophie Olivia

Call it an occupational perk, but being able to cuddle two new babies this week was such a treat! Last Friday I drove just around the corner from my house to meet adorable baby Sophie. I met Sophie’s Mommy Nicole over a year ago through a mutual friend and was thrilled that she contacted me about a session before Sophie arrived.

Sophie was barely 2 weeks old Friday, but she was very alert and awake for most of our session. Half way through I commented on how good she was…she was so completely calm even with me messing with her even while awake!  Nicole said she did not want to jinx it by saying so at the beginning, but she agreed she was just a sweet, easy baby.

Madyson was the same way when she was little, but sometimes she needed a little extra special cuddling just like Sophie….this is the part where I got to share the most important info I learned as a new mom….the Happiest Baby on the Block (live it & learn it new mommies, it’s a lifesaver!). {Edited to add: I am now trying the Happiest Toddler on the Block and it’s working wonders on my little independent angel}

I love spending the morning with you both and I hope you guys enjoy your slideshow….click HERE to view.

What can I say, I am on a storyboard kick this week….

{Such amazing light in an equally amazing room}

Motherhood suits Nicole so well….my favorite thing is how she interacts with Sophie (:

Introducing…..Princess Ria

There are people that are just effortlessly, natural parents…enter Jermaine and Veryll. I had the fortunate experience to visit their home last week. I met their newest family edition, Ria, along with her big brother Javan. “Princess Ria” is what her Daddy calls her, I love it! Ria was only a little over a week old and I could tell that Javan was beginning to develop into a very watchful big brother. Javan LOVES trains, so I thought the fun, individual attention of us setting at the table would make him ham it up for me, and boy did he! Later on Veryll brought out her very own newborn props…a sweet flower and pink tutu that she had made just for the occasion. I love it when moms have ideas!

Thank you Jermaine and Veryll for having me over, it was a pleasure. Congratulations on your beautiful baby girl! I hope you enjoy your slideshow….click HERE.

A few of my favorites….

They designed this room including painting this tree themselves….I told you Veryll was crafty!

Quite possibly my favorite series of photos to date!
