iheartfaces.com “Wedding Bells” contest….

Gotta love a photo contest….I found one on iHeartfaces.com and this weeks’ contest/challenge is right up my ally….it’s wedding themed. If you haven’t heard of this site and have some photo takin’ skills check them out! The contest ends tonight for this category, so I thought I would throw in a new pic for my blog and the contest. I took this at my most recent wedding in Destin this past weekend. I can’t call it anything other than “The future Mr. and Mrs.” …..

I made it back to Tennessee! Wow what a fun week. I have to say again to you guys (Donnie, Cindy, Sidel, Anna, Lindsey, Andrea, Danny, Ashley and all the other fabulous family members and cool friends)…from the bottom of my heart thank you for your hospitality, your generosity and a major good time! I couldn’t have asked for a better group of people to spend 5 days with, let alone photograph. I had to post a few more sneak peeks and there’s more where that came from too!

Happy Father’s Day

My own Daddy is going to have to share this post with Madyson’s Daddy, but I am sure he won’t mind.

To my Daddy, you are a constant presence in my life and a darn good one at that. From long conversations about life that last hours to the hilarious late night texts, I enjoy every second I can get with you. I get excited seeing you love Madyson, it makes me so happy because it’s almost as if I’m given a glimpse of how you might have been with me when I was her age. Your excitement is contagious and Mady is so fortunate to have a Granddaddy like you.

To my husband and Madyson’s Daddy, Mady doesn’t know how good she has it just yet. I love watching you with her. She is certainly Daddy’s little girl. I can’t wait for her to realize what an amazing man she has in her life. My top #1 wish for her is that she finds a man that will not only make her happy but will make you proud…..Just as my Dad is of you. I love you both.

Because it’s totally unatural to have a blog post without a photo, here ya go!

An oldie but a goodie (:

Couldn’t deny her if he tried!

Justin and Blair ~ Engaged

I met up with Justin and Blair at the Bluff View Art District last Monday….oh how I adore photos at this location! Justin arrived first looking darn handsome, holding a small bundle of yellow flowers. Then Blair came just a few minutes later in a sweet vintage floral dress. One glance at the two of them and I knew it was going to be a fabulous session! I remember talking to you both and recommending certain things, but honestly looking at these photos it’s almost like I wasn’t there and it was just the two of you together, loving each other….tear!

Thanks so much for meeting me out, it was a pleasure getting to know you both better. I am more than thrilled to be photographing their wedding this September, talk to you soon guys!

Will turns 3! Noah’s Little Ark birthday party at the Eubank’s

Eric, Madyson and I had a great time at Will’s party. Thanks so much for having us Erica and William! It was a bonus that Noah’s Little Ark was there, oh how I love me some Cindy and Rich Lavalla! The Lavalla’s are the sweetest people, if you ever need a zoo at your party you know who to call! Cindy mentioned that she wanted a few cute shots of the kids at this party for their website, but I don’t know if she knew what she was asking for….I mean, put me in an enclosed area with bunnies, a baby goat named Mai Tai, a llama named Frankie (aka Starburst for all you American Girl lovers!), a few sheep, a duck and some cute kids, I went crazy! Crazy in a good way of course,,,,the personality of children really shines through when they get around domesticated animals. From chickens perched atop a little boy’s hat, to sweet hugs from a little girl for Frankie, I think both Cindy AND Erica will be pleased.

Thanks to everyone who allowed me to photograph their children even though you had no idea who I was! If you are a parent of a child in any of these photos and are interested in prints or files from this party contact Meghan at 423.322.4615 or meghan@soliphotography.com…or of course you can contact Erica (love you girl!).

Enjoy a slideshow HERE.

Matt and Jewel married~Townsend, Tennessee

Last weekend Matt and Jewel were married on Smoky Ridge in Townsend, Tennessee. The backdrop of blue sky and mountains was perfect for their photos. Their bridesmaids and groomsman wore traditional Filipino dress. Jewel was glowing in her absolutely stunningly ornate gown and Matt in an intricate Barong.

I loved that Jewel added a special touch in having her bridesmaids carry colorful parasols…they made for a beautiful shield as she walked down the long sidewalk to the ceremony site. I almost cried when they rounded the corner covering her with the parasols so that her future husband wouldn’t see her!

Thanks again Matt and Jewel and your entire family. Amanda and I had a great time getting to know many of you and photographing your event. I hope you have a fabulous time traveling around for the next few weeks, can’t wait to see the pictures from the honeymoon!

Enjoy your sneak peek HERE.

A few of my favorites….

Beautiful Townsend, Tennessee

We just returned from a fun wedding weekend in Townsend, TN at Townsend View Cabins. Matt and Jewel were married yesterday on the most beautiful property. I had no idea that this place existed, and I know for certain that Eric and I will return soon! The fabulous Amanda Shea came to photograph this wedding with me and we thought it fitting to bring our husbands along to what we knew would be an amazing place to experience. Although I knew it would be pretty, I had not idea how beautiful the drive, the stay and our actual cabin would be. We stayed in the cabin called Agali Ridge and the view topped it all! This home was situated on the perfect lookout spot of the ridge amongst a natural bear habitat (although we didn’t see any!).

A big thank you goes out to Matt, Jewel and their family for the experience, the food and the amazing company. I had to post a couple images of the scenery/cabin….wedding sneak peeks coming soon!

The amazing Agali Ridge….wish this was my home away from home (:

Eric is always peaceful in the mountains.

The view was so amazing I thought I would document a few different looks of the sky on Matt and Jewel’s wedding day. This one was at 8:28am as the clouds cleared a path for abundant sunlight all day.

Told you, lots of sunshine! Taken at 11:14am.

The “moonrise” was just as cool…taken at 9:01pm.

Will and Cindy ~ Point Park Chattanooga, Tennessee

I met Cindy at the Bridal Show this past January and we clicked immediately. I love it when that happens…when you meet someone and you just know that somehow they will add meaning and some degree of happiness to your life, well that’s Cindy and Will! When I met with them together for the first time she was a bride that knew exactly what she wanted, my kind of girl! Their love story goes back many years, but you can see the excitement for each other in their eyes like they met yesterday. I am thrilled to be photographing their wedding this coming October….but first an engagement slideshow.

For those sweet couples that will be meeting me soon for an engagement session and you are wondering how to ‘work a pose’, here’s your example! I love the intensity in their expressions….
