Snow day!
You know you live in the South when…..you get SOOOO excited about snow! So excited in fact that schools, business and everything shuts down in a matter of hours just in the off chance a small blizzard comes through. Well this past Friday wasn’t necessarily a blizzard, but it sure was more snow than I’ve ever seen in my 8 years of living here! I planned to go to the grocery store Friday anyways, come to find out that was the entire city’s plan as well. We made it home just in time to enjoy the biggest snow flakes cascading down on our neighborhood. Madyson had plenty of play time in it, but she learned a quick lesson in listening to her mother when she tells you to keep your gloves on. She loved the way the snow felt and tasted, so much so her little hands turned beet red and started hurting. After a little warm water and some hot chocolate everything was right with the world…and we watched the rest of the snow from the living room window (:
She caught it right on her tongue!
She’s getting good at this!
This is when we realized the snow might be a little colder than expected.

Party’s over!
Congratulations Jon and Ani!
Jon and Ani are such a precious couple. They have a sweet family that loves and supports them….and ones that help put on an awesome wedding! What really asounded me by this family was the total unabated love that was shown to this couple throughout the day. It was such a wonderfully happy day, filled with tears, laughter and lots of hugs.
They were married on December 19th and although the weather was a little yucky that day, we were able to catch a few images outside before it started sprinkling on us. After we moved inside, the sanctuary in the BX turned out to be a perfect spot for our pre-ceremony pictures.

A few details from the day….
Look at that baseball themed cake!
I love this shot, they were so excited!

Eric said that he could hear Ani’s heart beating from 10 feet away as she walked up to see her groom.
I can’t get enough of this series of First Look photos! Ani and Jon chose to see each other prior to the ceremony so that there would be plenty of time for pictures. I’m so happy that they took this sweet moment to themselves. I’m equally excited that they decided to share it with us.
Both Jon and Ani’s fathers gave heartfelt speeches during the ceremony.
I told you there was lots of hugs….can you feel the love?!
Baby Allie is 6 months old!
Right before Christmas Allie’s mom Ellie called to schedule a session and I was doing cartwheels with excitement! I first met Ellie and Matt through a mutual friend and have enjoyed getting to spend time with them throughout the years. I found out that they only lived about a quarter of a mile away from our house so hopefully I’ll be seeing more of them sooner than later!
Sophie and Hank are Allie’s brother and sister. Literally. These two puppies were Matt and Ellie’s first babies. Sophie has recently been diagnosed with cancer, so it was important to meet for pictures to document such a special member of their family. Sophie’s undergoing chemo now and she’s doing well. I hope she gets better very soon guys!
I had a hard time choosing, but here’s a few of my favs….
Precious family….

Can you get enough of these blue eyes!

Our 5th anniversary
I can’t believe we met when I was only 19. We’ve basically grown up together the last 10 years and I’ve had a blast doing it. I can’t imagine a better person to share myself with, to have a child with and to experience love unconditionally. You are such an amazing father to Madyson, it astounds me on a daily basis. I love how you love us.
Eric took me to Austin, TX for some anniversary and birthday fun for me. While we were there he thought what a better way to document the occasion then with a photo session. The amazing and talented Cheryl Muhr took these photos of Eric and me. I had to share a few. Cheryl captured exactly what I wanted in these images, we love them so much and you Cheryl, thanks!
After 5 years of marriage and 10 years together…..we still got it (:
This one has ended up being my favorite….I think, well at least for this week! Something about my curvy hips and Eric’s masculine stance. Cheryl is my hero.

The awesome story about this shot is we all nearly got ticketed and/or arrested! We tried for the shot once and my leg was doing something funny,,,we heard someone scream out of a car (or what we thought) “Get out of the road!” We thought it was just someone being nasty, little did we know it was some bike cops, oops. Apparently you can’t pause in a crosswalk for a quick pic, it makes sense now of course but I sure am glad we worked it out!
I love this shot of Austin in the background.

Scott and Melissa
Yep, you guessed it, this is my sis. And NO we are not twins….today. Yes from time to time during our adolescent years we would fib a bit to see who would buy it, but to tell the truth she’s exactly 16 months and 3 days younger!
“You’re the prettier sister,” said Meghan. “No, you’re way prettier,” barked Melissa. “Shut that mouth Melissa!” exclaimed Meghan. That was a gentle glimpse into our totally wonderful and spastic sister world I couldn’t live without. This past Thanksgiving Melissa brought her bf Scott to Chattanooga. It was his first time in Chatt and we broke him in the right way….with a photography session! If you know me well you know I’m just as comfy in front of the camera as I am behind it and my sister is no exception. I think Scott caught on rather quick and worked it out, what do you think?!

I had to narrow it down becasue I really loved all of them, but here goes….
Oh and by the way, Olivia Clark at MAC Cosmetics worked out Melissa’s makeup look for the day….loved it!
Hey girl hey!

Tyler and Valerie – Engaged
I first met Val at Play Gym with the Creative Discovery museum. This is when my Madyson and her neice Madison were still babies. She’s the perfect aunt you would want keeping your child. After months and months went by we stopped going to the classes but still kept up on Facebook. I remember her telling me in one of the classes, “One day me and Tyler will get married and you will have to photograph my wedding….IF that ever happens!” After Tyler proposed she contacted me and mentioned that we had a mutual friend, Hollie, that I had shot a wedding for recently. She actually attended the wedding so she got an outside perspective of how I work a wedding. Apparently she liked what she saw because they have chosen me as their photographer for their wedding!
Valerie said her family picked on them a little for waiting nearly 7 years to get married….all in good time they said! Well the time is just right now for these two and I can’t wait to be a part of your wedding day next June!

A few of my favorites….
I know I posted a similar one to this in their sneak peek post a while back, but I wanted to emphasize again how absolutely FREEZING it was this morning on Signal Mountain! It might look all sunny and warm, but don’t be fooled, it was 20-something degrees….they were my heros.
Tyler was bringin on the fierceness here, love it!
While looking for this one spot, we happened upon another spot, which lead us to hike back just a little where we found an amazing waterfall and scenic overlook. I love the light reflecting off of a rock on Tyler’s face.
Tyler always seems to make her laugh (:
Bobby and Alexandra – Engaged
It was much warming out when these photos were taken! This fabulous couple is getting married next April and I couldn’t be more delighted to be their photographer. We had to reschedule one because of rain and I’m so glad we did! Alexandra really wanted some sunny photos and I think we gave her just that.
Thanks Bobby and Zanna for your kind words after this session, your messages made my day! I am giggling with excitement over your upcoming wedding day…..only 3 months and about 2 weeks to go!

Oh Alexandra! Girl after my own heart with those boots!
Baby Ria is 6 months
Let the blogging begin! I promised updates, so they are coming at you all day today. I met up with this sweet family early December for Ria’s 6 month session. Ria’s Mom and Dad opted for my One Sweet Year plan where we schedule 3 sessions throughout Ria’s first year. This way all the special milestones are documented. I love seeing how they change in such a short amount of time, and I REALLY love that I get to capture it with my camera.
Thanks Veryll and Jermaine, I love you guys!

Veryll always has THE cutest clothes and accessories for Ria.

I couldn’t let Mom and Dad get away without a quick photo together (:
