John & Hannah – Married

Congratulations John and Hannah! We met John and Hannah through mutual friends, Jon and Ani who we photographed for at their wedding last December…..thanks so much for sending John and Hannah our way guys! They were married at Asbury Chapel with their reception at the Brainerd Baptist BX. It was a rather warm day, but they all made the best of it while we quickly took photos outside. Asbury Chapel was great for popping outside for a minute and then back in to cool off, there were plenty of spots all around the property to get some great shots. Afterwards we headed over to the BX for their reception. Because John and Hannah know that evening light is the best for pictures, they opted for some quick sunset photos after they left their reception…..and I’m so glad they did!

Some of my favorites from the day….

Like many couples these days, Hannah and John opted for a First Look prior to the ceremony. Since it was so warm outside and the light was just right inside, we decided to stay indoors for this….and it turned out great! My view was the first two and Eric’s was last or third image.

Eric’s image…I’m so proud of you baby!

Eric what did you say to provoke these little girls?!

After the reception we ran over to Brainerd Baptist Church and took advantage of the amazing light.

Tim & Pamela – Married

What a fabulous day for a wedding June 5th turned out to be! Although there was a small chance of rain, I explained to Pam that I don’t worry about it unless it’s over 50%….and even then, Chattanooga weather is so unpredictable it could be 100% and never spill a drop. This worked out great because Tim and Pamela’s reception was to be outside in their own backyard. Soundforce and Alshabibi Catering started bringing in items almost a week before the wedding. They managed to turn their beautiful living room filled with furniture, into an elegant ceremony site. Pamela left no detail undone and gave Ahmed control to go crazy! And that he did….his flowers, decor and delicious food spread was something to drool over. Tonya and Steven at the Cake Gallery designed Pamela’s dream cake, topped with a princess crown. It’s so neat to me to have brides explain what their ceremony and reception will be like, then to show up and see it in person is sometimes overwhelming! It’s like reading a great book and seeing it’s equally wonderful counterpart movie version.

One very unique thing about Pam and Tim was that they were high school sweethearts. Life had a way of separating them for a while, then pulling them back together again. It was so precious to see their affection towards each other coupled with a sincere love that only best friends can share. Pamela and Tim, thanks so much for your kindness and friendship. Congratulations and best wishes for a beautiful life together!

It would be a crime to not have this dress and this bathtub in the same picture….we wouldn’t want to go breaking any laws now would we?!

Tonya and Steven, you are sooooo awesome! I’m not sure if you noticed or not Tonya, but Pamela actually cried when she saw this cake (:

Ahmed isn’t only great at making mouth-watering food, he’s also very talented when he plays with flowers (:

She’s nervous but she’s doing this!

Like I said, elegant ceremony site!

Awwww…..it was a sweet and emotional ceremony. Pamela is looking up at her friend singing on her balcony while Tim admires his bride.

One of my favorite celebratory pictures of all time….love you Lisa!!

This pool was calling my name after running around in black for a while, but I promise, I didn’t jump in (:

Alshabibi Catering transformed Pamela and Tim’s living room from the ceremony site to reception in no time flat.

It was time for us to go, so I had actually left at this point….I ran back in to grab a bag and this is what I came across! How could I resist?

Jonathan & April – Married

April and I were destined to become friends….and for me to photograph her wedding of course! You see, my Mom, Cathy, travels for her job. She’s gone 3 weeks out of the month and loves to promote her favorite daughter’s business (sorry sissy Missy!). She carries around my little business cards just waiting for someone to utter the word engaged. Funny thing though, when April and my Mom met on an airplane, April wasn’t even engaged yet! Fast forward a year and after Jonathan asked April to marry him, she remembered that business card my Mom so lovingly placed in her hand.

April described Jonathan as her everything and someone that she was very connected with. I experienced that connection when I first met Jonathan at their engagement session. April put so much thought into her engagement session I knew her wedding would be just as special! They were married over Memorial Day weekend at the Chattanoogan and over 200 people were in attendance. Because of the weather we didn’t get to shoot outside, but that didn’t put a damper on fabulous images that we captured! It certainly helps when you have professional models (:

April and Jonathan, congratulations on your marriage and the beginning of your new life together! We appreciate you letting us into your lives to share in your special day.

April is beautiful, inside and out….this gown made her “movie-star-esque”.

Humphrey’s flowers knocked it out of the park with these colorful florals!

He, he…..I know April will like this one (:

April’s idea for their First Look was to come down the elevator and have Jonathan waiting on her….talk about putting the man in a spot of intense anticipation! It was very sweet and emotional (:

Stop it April!!

This one is my favorite of the day.

Believe it or not, this is a conference room at The Chattanoogan Hotel. They can transform any room into a wedding dream!

I love this shot….Brittany you’re awesome!

This girl means business!

Leave it to April to have flowers to throw!

Jonathan and April get 1st place for the coolest, most energetic wedding dance ever!

Hunter & Alex – Married

Finally I’ve returned! Even I, princess of timely wedding posts, can a tiny bit behind on sharing recent weddings! Well the wait is over…..why don’t we start by congratulating Hunter and Alex, woohoo! I met Alex and her mom at the bridal show last year and I’m so thankful that we did. I have had the chance to get to know this sweet family for many, many months and the thing I’ve noticed most about them is their overwhelming love for one another. That love was evident throughout Hunter and Alex’s much anticipated wedding day.

I have to brag about this family and their decorating skills….with a few helpers of course, they managed to elegantly decorate the barn at Blackfox Farms with perfect attention to detail. Of course the backdrop of the farm is beautiful enough, but their simple, yet beautiful additions made for some unique images for their wedding.

Congratulations Alex and Hunter…..I’m thrilled to see what the future holds for you both!

Cake: Emily Morgan

Dress: Alex wore an altered form of her Mother’s wedding dress,,,,it was beautiful!

Makeup/Hair – April Hutson

Catering: Walley’s Restaurant

I’ve never seen some of the flowers that they grow at Blackfox, they are amazing! Eric spent some time roaming around to get these lovely shots.

Alex and Hunter opted to see each other before the ceremony. This allowed for plenty of time to roam the grounds of Blackfox, where you can’t get a bad picture!

My view of their first look…..

Brittany’s view of their first look…..

This fabulous bridal party shot was Eric’s idea, good job baby (:

I’m sure their wedding guests were wondering why Eric was on the roof of the nearby house….this is why!

I love the look on Alex’s face here right before she walks down the aisle!

I asked Alex if everyone in her family (there are 5 siblings) sang as well as these two and Hunter quickly replied, “Oh it skips every other one!”

After their first dance we ran outside for one more quick natural light photo….I’m sure glad we did!
