Brandon & Megan – Engaged

I’ve got 3 brides this year with my very own name and all equally as fabulous as the Megan featured in this post….lucky me! We met a few weeks ago for their engagement session after having to reschedule due to rain one day. Luckily for us the weather was beautiful and the wind made it pleasant to be outside. These two are tons of fun and were very comfortable in front of my camera….it’s the perfect combination! Megan and Brandon will be married this coming August 7th….it’s coming up very soon, I’m so excited to see all Megan’s plans come together!

A few of my favorites….

Brinkley & Dane – Walnut Hill Farm Dalton, Georgia

I first met Brinkley’s mom and her aunt at the Formal Affiar bridal show last February. They loved my photography and thought that Brinkley and I would get along great. After our first meeting together I knew they were right! Brinkley is so sweet and likewise her fiancé Dane suits her perfectly. Their relationship is obviously loving but playful at the same time. They seem to keep each other on their toes! Dane proposed to Brinkley last New Year’s Eve in St. Simons Island. He arranged a scavenger hunt ending with Brinkley alone in a lighthouse with her future husband on one knee……I’m crying just typing about it, sheesh! Congrats you two!

They will be married at Walnut Hill Farm this July, what a beautiful location! If this venue was available 5 years ago when Eric and I were married I most certainly would have chosen it. Nanette Yarbrough and her team do an amazing job of pulling an event together and I’m thrilled to work with them this summer. She was even nice enough to allow us to do Brinkley and Dane’s engagement session there as well. After shooting for a bit at the farm we headed over to Brinkley’s parent’s land and had some fun at their barn.

Brinkley actually asked me ahead of time if her Dad shouldn’t mow their grass in the field near their house. She had seen pictures that I had taken in tall grass before and thought it would be cute….now that’s a bride that’s thinking ahead about her images!

Hannah & John – Engaged

I met with Hannah and John recently for their downtown engagement session and we had a blast! They were both so comfortable with each other and very comfortable in front of my camera…..a perfect combination for a photo shoot! They will be married next month at Asbury Chapel and I couldn’t be more happy for them.

I would give anything to live, photograph and baske in this kind of light all the time!

Jordan & Meghan – Engaged

Introducing…..Jordan and Meghan! I met Meghan at Allison and Tyler’s wedding in 2008 and I’m so happy she kept up with me since then and chose me to photograph her own wedding. Meghan and Jordan are getting married in September this year and I’m ecstatic to say the least. Judging by the smiles in all of their pictures, they are pretty happy about it too! I love happy, smiley couples and these two definitely fit the bill.

Congratulations on your engagement, can’t wait until September!

Meghan, you are super-fabulous!

I love the look in Meghan’s eyes in this one.

Tim & Joanna – Portraits

There’s nothing I love more than photographing couples, especially when they are used to being on the other side of the camera! Although a little unnerving at first, photographing for another photographer is a special treat. This ultra fab couple is Tim and Joanna of Imago Photography. They just moved from Waco, Texas to Cleveland, Tennessee this past August. Goota love those Texans! I met Tim at a CPPG meeting last fall and was thrilled when he asked me to photograph him and Joanna. If I remember correctly this was a Christmas present to his beautiful wife, awwww that’s so sweet!

Tim and Joanna, thank you so much for having me document a small moment in your lives. You are two precious people and I’m honored to call you my friends (:

Joanna, you are SHUT THAT MOUTH beautiful!

Awwwww…..sunny sweet!

April + Jonathan – Engaged

My sweet mother is my number one fan (besides Eric of course!). The job that she has requires her to travel around the country so she’s constantly meeting all sorts of cool people. Enter the fabulous April. She and my mother met on an airplane in 2008 and I don’t believe that April was engaged then (or maybe she was) but my mother was sure to give out one of my business cards. April says she knew after hearing about me from my mom and seeing my photos that I would be her wedding photographer. How lucky am I?! April and I met in passing at a bridal show and then again to discuss wedding details this past fall….we were a perfect match. But not as perfect as her and Jonathan! I had so much fun getting to know you both better. I enjoyed Jonathan’s antics to make April laugh…especially when he spoke in Spanish?! You guys are so silly but so wonderful together.

I mentioned in an earlier post that I would talk more about April’s involvement in choosing this location. One of her friend’s father has an art studio on the top floor of this downtown building pictured below. I love it when a couple chooses a special location for our session. Especially when it allows me to photograph in an original location. It gave their images a unique touch. Isn’t the balcony of this building beautiful? Although the elevator was broken and we climbed 9 flights of stairs, it was completely worth it! The rain held off and the light was perfect.

To view a slideshow of even more images, click HERE.

We went inside just one floor down from the art studio to get a few images. This building is being rennovated from my understanding so the room was totally gutted. The window light was AH-mazing!

Jeni + Grant – Engaged

I’ve enjoyed getting know Jeni over the past several months and loved hearing how she spoke of Grant. After meeting Grant and seeing how he loves Jeni, I can’t help but stare when they look at each other and smile….and there was lots of that going on! Every time they look at each other either one or the other does something to make the other smile and laugh. Thank you both for meeting me for your engagement session. I’m looking forward to your wedding next month!

Jeni and Grant have already seen these images and here’s a quick little line about what she thought of them:

“They are absolutely wonderful!!! I can’t express how happy I am with them. You are amazing!”

Told you that they don’t stop laughing and smiling at each other!

Jeni and Grant met at a ballroom dancing class so it was only natural to show off some major dancing skills!

More smiling and loving.
