Travis & Holly – Engaged

Oh Travis and Holly, how do I love thee! And your sweet cousin, Alex, I love her too for sending you our way. We photographed Alex and Hunter’s wedding last May and couldn’t be more thrilled that they let us in the family.

From the beginning Holly wanted something scenic and a location that was unique to her and Travis. I believe Holly has a friend getting married at this farm and the owners generously let us roam the grounds. The farm is called SaultoPaul Stables in Chickamauga, Georgia, what a gem! I loved all the nice touches that the owners put around the farm to make it a more special place to shoot.

Thanks for bringing us to knew and unforeseen locations, it was fun! We can’t wait for your wedding in September!

What an amazing and well constructed covered bridge!

They even have a cute outhouse on the property!

Holly you are so pretty, I love this color on you!

Good call on the rockers Holly!

The fence that separated me and this big guy didn’t really make me feel that safe….although he looks like he wasn’t going anywhere anytime soon (:

Rob & Amy – Engaged

Rob and Amy are both professional musicians, although I’ve secretly heard Rob play and he doesn’t know it at the Chattanooga Symphony Orchestra, hehehe……I had the pleasure of hearing Amy for the first time at our session a few weeks ago. We started at the Read House to get some formal shots that they could use professionally and Eric and I had fun working with some interesting lighting techniques in the otherwise dark Read House lobby.

After we nailed down the formal shots, they changed into something more comfy and we headed out to walk around downtown. I love Amy’s green dress with Rob’s coral shirt, all the colors really popped against the backdrop of the walking bridge, etc. Thanks so much for meeting us out and trusting us as your photographers of course! We can’t wait for your wedding in August!

My favorite of Amy on the left…..she’s so pretty (:

Von & Dena – Engaged

I’m so proud of both myself and Eric, plus Von and Dena for making it out to Chester Frost at 7am for their engagement session. Not only did Von and Dena show up dressed and ready to go, they came with major props to make their session fun! From the canoe idea to the sweet picnic with Von playing the guitar, they both put so much thought into making their session unique and special to them.

We anticipate an equally special and unique wedding coming up this June….their reception will be held at the IMAX, woot!

Stewart & Kristen – Engaged

You guys are so sweet! Kristen was referred to me by a past bride of mine, Sarah, and if she’s any friend of Sarah’s I knew I would love her! We met last week at Chattanooga Golf and Country (where their wedding will be held) for their engagement session. Kristen has put lots of thought into her wedding, including her engagement session……she made a cute sign for thank you notes! I think anytime you can add something special like this it makes the photos more unique. Oh and let’s not forget the hot pink golf cart! Let’s just say Kristen and I were a little more excited about the cart than Stewart, but he was totally a team player (:

We can’t wait for June to hurry up and get here!

Josh & Megan – Engaged

We had the best weather for Josh and Megan’s engagement session as we wandered around downtown….and had so much fun! They are getting married this September at Patton Chapel, so it was only fitting we stop there for some quick photos too. It was great to get to know you both a little more!

This picture with the shoes says a lot about the small differences in Josh and Megan, love it!

Brandon & Jennifer – Engaged

Brandon and Jennifer, oh how I love you both! You were so comfortable with each other, so in love, and all of that shots in your images. We were up in the air about where to shoot when I reconnected with a friend at This Ain’t Your Mama’s Wedding + Party Expo. Jill and her fabulous family at Barn at High Point Farms allowed us to shoot on their land, thanks so much!

Thanks so much for meeting us out you two, Eric and I are excited about your upcoming August 13th wedding!

High Point Farms is a super sweet wedding venue. I believe they can accommodate about 150-200 guests. If you’re looking for a scenic wedding locale this is your spot!

Brandon, what are you doing with that pitchfork?!

Ben is such a good little boy!

I had to save the best for last…..this little goat was born earlier in the day before our session. His mommy, Sweet Pea, let Jennifer hold him for a while….let’s just say Jennifer was REALLY excited! I think that holding the baby goat made her day.

Happy birthday sweet little baby goat……

Josh & Heather – Engaged

I jumped for joy when I received confirmation that Heather wanted me to be her wedding photographer. Not only was she a super cool teacher at Madyson’s school but I knew that her and Josh’s wedding was going to be a blast! Although her wedding isn’t until October, we got right on with scheduling their engagement session so she could use them for save the dates. She quickly suggested that we use her family’s property for their engagement photos on Lookout Mountain and I quickly accepted the idea. She casually mentioned there was a small cabin in the woods with a sort of nice overlook, but when we arrived we were thrilled to say the least! The cabin, or really large log house in the woods on the edge of Lookout Mountain, was a perfect backdrop for their engagement photos. It was sunny, bright and fun, just like the two of them.

Thanks for being so awesome in hanging out with us while we waited at the end for the sun to set….I know we were all freezing but it was totally worth it!

Ryan & Amanda – Engaged

Ryan and Amanda flew in from Chicago for a fun weekend of wedding planning that included taking some time out for us to complete their engagement photos. It appeared that rain was in our future and we were going to have to shoot no matter what and we were all about it! Fortunately it only sprinkled here and there and held out for us to get some shots outdoors. On a side note I have to compliment Amanda on pulling together such cute ideas for her photoshoot, she really did her research!

We are super excited to be a small part of your wedding this coming August. See you soon!

2010 Wedding Favorites Part 2

BRANDON + MEGAN – 8.07.10

It almost looks fake, however the sky is untouched and image was only added contrast and resized for web, it was really that lovely blue over thier heads (:

We captured this image right before their entered their reception at Fairyland…..you guys were so great those last few minutes!

JORDAN + MEGHAN – 9.04.10

Megan’s mom, Glenda gets the credit for this capture…she’s the one that suggested this fabulous car!

TERRY + SONJA – 9.18.10

The image below was my favorite from the day. The lines of the building coupled with their expressions tops my list.

SCOTT + NATALIE – 10.02.10

I hadn’t met Scott or Natalie before their wedding day. They were living in Switzerland so it was impossible to have met prior to October 2nd….but that didn’t seem to phase either of us much. We all hopped right in to photographed the day like we knew them forever!

I think about all my 2010 weddings and this one definitely sticks out in my mind. There’s something so sweet and playful about them enjoying an adult beverage and Scott proudly showing off his new wedding band to his new bride (all smiles too). You might not have noticed but that’s Eric’s big shoulder behind Scott….we were in transport to the reception when I grabbed this shot.

Oh Barnsley Gardens you make me swoon.

KERRY + ROBIN – 10.16.10

Also one of my summer engagement favorites at Council Fire Golf Course.

You two are so precious! And in case anyone is wondering, her hair stayed perfectly curled all day long (:

ED + ALEXIS – 10.23.10

Alexis was referred to me by my dear friend Amanda whom I’ve grown up with the past 15 years. I wish I had known Alexis before the wedding, but now we are making up for lost time. She’s amazing at knitting, seriously, it’s crazy. She’s been spoiling me with lots of newly knitted things lately,,,,thanks Alexis you’re the best!

This is Alexis’ nephew, Brody. He was obviously was more curious about something else other than the vows being said above him (:

The next morning….

DANIEL + CHRISTY – 11.13.10

RAWR.

My favorite of Christy from their engagement session.

Daniel works for the railroad. In fact, if my memory serves me correctly he’s in charge of the safetly of all the men on the job…..so he might look calm and collected in this image but I know the only thing he was thinking about was how much further away from that train the regulations stated they should be!
